Electric resistance welding is a particular process for making a pipe. It is seen as important, and it is used across much of the economy. What are electric resistance welded pipes and why are they important?
At the Teni factory, we produce pipes through electric resistance welding. We begin with two coils of metal. These are heated and welded together to form an extended pipe. Electricity warms the metal until it becomes soft enough to shape. Then we are in for the squeeze of bringing the two together. This process is fast and efficient, and that is why it is so popular for pipe and tube making.
ERW pipes are more flexible on both hardness and strength and suitable for use in various industry. For one, they’re strong and durable, an important attribute when you’re dealing with liquids and gases. And they can be made for less, saving companies money. And, these pipes are smooth surface, which allows liquids or gases to flow smoothly. And since they can be tailored to match a wide range of needs, they’re flexible and fit many use cases.
At Teni we care about quality in the production of electrical resistance welded pipes. We inspect everything along the creation line to ensure that our pipes meet our high standards. We stress test the pipes to make sure they are strong and durable enough to withstand harsh conditions. We also test the dimensions and surface to ensure that the pipes will perform well when they are installed. With strict quality control, we’re pretty certain these pipes will perform well for our customers.
Electric resistance welded pipes are made from a few materials. Carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel are among the few, widely used materials. Made of carbon steel, strong and durable, not easy to deform. Also, stainless does not rust, making it a good choice for instances where a pipe gets wet. It's an alloy of metals to make it perform in a particular way for some applications. We select materials that are appropriate for the application so the pipes function effectively.
It's always good to remember that not all pipe types are equal. Two of the most common types of pipe are seamless pipe and ERW pipe. Seamless pipes are constructed of one piece of metal so they are much stronger and reliable and are ideal for use under high pressure. ERW stands for electric resistance welded pipes which are welded by two pieces of steel sheets. They are made of a seam, however they are strong enough for many uses. Each has its advantages, and the choice really comes down to what each project requires.
